What is Laminate Flooring?
It’s a synthetic flooring that is constructed to look like wood. Each plank of laminate is made up of synthetic layers and topped with a surface that looks like the real thing. Underlay is essential if you’re installing laminate flooring. Choosing the right kind of underlay is important because it requires efficient thermal conductivity. Laying Underfloor Heating Under Laminate For Excellent Results
Having assembled the right materials for your underlay and flooring finish, it’s important to understand the process of installation. We’ve broken it down into 5 steps:
Step 1. Ensure that the liquid screed sub floor is completely dry before applying the flooring finish. This requires 24/48 hours for initial dry.
Step 2. 7 days later the screed can be force dried using the underfloor heating system. Acclimatise the laminate flooring to the heating temperature in which it will be laid for 48 hours.
Step 3. Lay the underfloor, ensuring that it’s a thin, low tog product.
Step 4. Lay the laminate flooring on top of the underlay.
Step 5. Once the installation is complete, maintain the underfloor heating temperature for at least another 48 hours before turning it off or regulating it.
